Dress down

Why I think Students should be able to wear what they want in school…

                   Students should be able to wear what they want in school because it allows them to be there self and be different. When everybody is wearing the same kind of cloths all the time it gets old and boring. I think that if you got to at least wear jeans and a nice shirt like a shirt from American eagle or something like that than you would be able to mix it up and be different. I would be happy if we got a dress down at least once a week, which would give us a chance to wear something different and fresh. Here at my school we have a strict dress code were the boys have to wear a polo and khaki pants that are brown, black, or grey. And on chapel day which is Friday we have to wear a button down with khaki pants.

                   Last year we had dress down on Mondays and it was good to be able to wear something different and just be more ourselves. But this year for some reason we don’t have a dress down at all and maybe it’s because we had a lot of problems with people not wearing that right things and abusing the privilege of having a dress down. This really sucks that they wouldn’t give us a chance to have a dress down this year. I think we would do ok with it, I mean it’s not like we’re going to come in looking like thugs. We all need a break of the same old cloths, it would do us a big favor if we could have one day to wear different cloths and just be comfortable. So please let us have a dress down soon!!

First practise

Our first basketball practice is today and it is going to be rough since we just had soccer practice last night and we are going to be conditioning for the next 3-4 weeks for basketball. So we are all going to be very exhausted, we also have practice tomorrow which we won’t have time for anything to do in the afternoon. So we will be tired and have no time to do anything with our day. Just being truthful I am not ready at all to run and condition for two hours straight without touching a basketball. But I know it’s for our own good and will make us better. And if were are only doing it twice a week than I guess it’s not that bad and I can deal with knowing that it will make me better. And hopefully I will be able to dunk by the middle of the year I am already grabbing rim.

Michael Jordan

Michael Jeffery Jordan is considered by most people to be the greatest basketball player of all time and I agree for sure. He was born on February 17, 1963 in Brooklyn New York. His family moved to North Carolina and he attended Emsley Laney high school and as a sophomore he tried out for the varsity basketball team and got cut but then he came back his junior year and made the team. He soon got recognized and went to play college basketball for North Carolina were he then grew to be 6’4 over the summer before the start of his freshman year. And under Coach Dean Smith he was named the ACC freshman of the year and averaged 13.4 points a game with a 53.4% shooting percentage. I guess you could say that he was always clutch he hit the game winning shot in the 1982 NCAA Championship game against Georgetown. He went on to be selected into the NCAA All American first tea in both his sophomore and junior years. He then got drafted to the Chicago Bulls and in only his first year he averaged 28 points, and was voted to the all-star game as a rookie, and went on to become rookie of the year. In his second he broke his foot and his season was cut short. In the 1986-87 season he scored 3000 points the only one to do so beside the great Wilt Chamberlin, it wasn’t tell the 1990-91 season that he and the bulls finally made the finals and won against the Los Angeles Lakers in 5 games. And the very next year they win 67 games the best record in NBA history. And they also won another championship and the next year they won another ring. With this 3 peat the Bulls were on top of the world. But after that, things went downhill a little bit for Michael his father died and he was considering not coming back to basketball. He wanted to do what he did as a child and play his father’s favorite sport, Baseball he signed with the Scottsdale Scorpions. He did live up to the hype of being the best but he continued to try and get better but he did not. And he knew that he missed basketball and all it took was the words ''I’m back!'' and the basketball fans went crazy they were so happy that he was coming back. In his first year back Michael led the Bulls to a 13-4 record and wore number 45 but during the eastern conference finals he switched back to 23. After that he went on to a second three peat and on his final game ‘’the flu game’’ hit the final shot to win. His legacy is if not the best than one of the best of all he has five regular season MVPs, six finals MVPs, 3 all-star MVPs. Magic Johnson once said this ‘’Theirs Michael Jordan and then there’s the rest of us.’’

Charle Jackson

My good friend Charlie Jackson was kicked out of our school yesterday. He was a good friend, and he was on the basketball team and soccer team so we will miss him in the classroom and on the court. He could sometimes be bad but still he didn’t deserve to get kicked out of school. He will be I a worse environment with the wrong group of people that are doing the wrong stuff... If he would have been able to stay here he would have had a chance to do something in life. And I know he really liked this school even if it didn’t always seem like it but he had so many close friends and that’s one of the things I love about b.g.b.s to is that you can have a lot of friends for life. But I hope and pray that he find a good group of kids to be around at his new school and can have the same great opportunity’s that he had at b.g.b.s. And I know that if he keeps up with school and stays out of trouble than he will do just fine, and I pray that he keeps his dreams high and keeps playing basketball.

Kentucky basketball

Kentucky basketball is the greatest tradition in NCAA basketball they have the most wins and the second most championships. And you all know that we won the championship last year! Are coach John Cal is one of the best at getting the best players in the country to come play for us.He has coached NBA stars Derrick rose, john wall, and last year coached the great Anthony Davis who won player of the year,defense of player of the year and freshman of the year.This years team sent six of our players to the NBA and last year we sent four. And it looks like that will continue with this years team as we are getting big name players like Nerlans Noel,Archie Goodwin,Alex Poyethros and Wille Collie. We also have Ryan Harrow who is a high ranked player coming over from Nc state. A lot of people think we will repeat and of course we will. This year will be so hyped and I can't wait and I know the rest of the big blue nation!!

Another soccer game

We have a soccer game against AIE today wich we should win. But it sucks that we cant take the bus because the coach sid it to short of a drive to take the bus but really the bus is more convenant for every one . Your parents dont have to drive so they dont have to spend so much on gas. And it is alot of fun on the bus. So i am thankful for being able to take the bus and wish we could  take it today. I have heard that AIE is not to good so we will win , they like to try and score from the outisde  which we have alot of speed so they most likely wont score. Come out and watch us !!!

lockers !

Well lately the teachers have been starting to search or lockers for phones. They have also been searching back packs wich is not ok at all. You cant go in students back packs looking for phones, in they havent even seen any yet. Last year kids had ther phones in there pocket to, but they decide to start searching this year?????  Thats dumb if you ask me , the teachers are in the wrong here not the students! I know were not allowed to have them and we have to turn them is but still dont go in are lockers unless you actualy see it in our pocket. It hasnt been a big deal until this year and no one knows why. Coming from a teachers veiw i can see why they dont want us having are phon in class. We could be on the internet or somethin or texting and that would take us away from calss time. So yeah i understand why there doing but still sont go in our lockers!!

No internet???

So last week we got are internet shutdown for the week. And all because a parent did not think it was good for there child to on the internet. Which i dont know why, i mean knowing how to use the internet and all the cool things you can do with the internet is very good for todays world.So really there was no reson for the parent to worry. I guess some of the parents try to shelter there kids way to much for no reson. There gonna be adults some day and they wont have there parents there to shelter them, and when they get used to being shelterd they wont know what to do when they get out in to the real world.

soccer!!

We had a soccer game yesterday against Summerset and we played ok but lost again. Summerset is are biggest rival in every sport and there were some very controversial calls, I got shoved in the back and they didn’t get a yellow card, and before the game when we were shaking hands some of their players didn’t shake our hands. There was a lot of trash talk from them, and at the end of the game when we were shaking hands they said some stuff that is better off not being repeated… And Charlie was the one they were talking to and he got mad, but its ok we play them again so we will beat them next time.

Baketball !!

With basketball season just around the corner everybody is getting ready for it, we have a very good chance to win JV state this year. Are starters are Chandler , Noah , Dan , Mark , and I now other schools are already saying that they can beat us, but we are even better than last year’s JV team who should have gone to state. And I think that this year’s team just plays together better and we all know each other’s games. This is going to be a really fun season I just fell like a lot of memories will be made this season, I can’t wait and neither can anybody else. Some people think that varsity can beat JV but really they can’t and let the debates begin and we can only prove it at big red madness. So come out and see who wins…  A big game is the games against Summerset are biggest rival!!!

Scool News

Within the first three weeks of school some kids have already managed to get themselfs in grade trouble , not  gonna say any names though haha. But for me its way easier than last year probely because im used to how the school works now , this being only my second year. But mostly everybody is keeping up with there work wich is the norm at B.G.B.S. Not to much drama has started yet, suprising last year there was alot of it but most of it was over dumb stuff. But you know BlueGrass is a great school i would recamond it to any one thats wanting a great education. Here soon  i will be posteing videos and pictures of the sports games at school so make sure you check out my blog to see up to date videos. Week 3 !

Going into the 3ed week of school nothing has really changed, i mean its like we never even had a summer. Its just the same old same old every day. But it is funn alot of the time because everybody or almost everybody is real cool. We had a soccer game yesterday against North Harden and we lost but not by that musch we have goten so good in a short period of time . We have another game on thursday in somerset come out and cheer us on !!

Second week of school

Today we had a soccer game against Trinty, its sad to say but we got beat 10-1. But this is only are first season as a soccer team, so we can only get better. Also are girls volly ball team had a game and they also lost but not as bad , they are a good team. So make sure you come out and support us!!!! The next soccer game is satuday in hopkinsville  and the girls have a volly ball game on friday that is also in hopkinsville
